By admin | Aug 14, 2008

AUGUST 14. WASHINGTON – Video games have long been criticized by many people for having adverse effects on children. It was believed that children, who played video games, were more likely to get violent in nature.

However, recently many researches were conducted on the effects of video games on children. It was surprisingly found that playing video games helped in creating a good coordination of the hand and eyes.

There is a new video game that has been specially designed for kids, who are affected with cancer. The game called Re-Mission has been developed by a non-profit organization named HopeLab. It has been of great help in letting young cancer patients become stronger mentally.

The video game ‘Re-Mission’ has a central character named Roxxi, which is a microscopic robot that travels throughout the body of a cancer patient fighting and destroying cancerous cells inside the body of a patient.

Studies have revealed that children, who were affected with cancer and had played Re-Mission, show good response to the chemotherapy treatments as compared to others.

Thus, it has been proved beyond doubt that playing video games does not always mean your children getting prone to violence and they have a positive side too.
