A Question: How many bones has the human Leg??

Health News: BSE does it make any difference?

Does the Breast Self Exam (BSE) make any difference? Well, recent researches show that it doesn’t reduce the risk of breast cancers but could only do more harm.

A review by the Cochrane Collaboration, an international organization, points out that the often-recommended BSE chore can do more harm than good. The organisation had reached the conclusion after conducting studies on about 400,000 women.

Breast cancer epidemiologist at Seattle’s Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center Dr David B Thomas says has said that he lumps and bumps one finds during BSE could be normal, as they often turn out to be benign.  The more BSE one does, the more chances are there for finding benign, which could lead to unnecessary surgical complications.  Women in their young age rarely get breast cancer and when one becomes old, the risk goes up, he says.
While some women are relieved of the news, some others are really perplexed. A 44-year-old lady has said that she felt relived of reading the review as she felt she was not competent enough to do the BSE herself. But a younger 20-year old lady is so perplexed saying that she was now not sure of how to check herself.
