Health News: Constant gum infections… check out you may be infertile!

AUGUST 25. JERUSALEM - A recent study undertaken by Israel shows that there is a close relation between gum infections and male infertility.

Experts from Hebrew University-Hadassah School of Dental Medicine and Bikur Holim Hospital in Jerusalem have come to a conclusion that infertility and gum problems are directly related. It means that men, who have health sperms, suffer less from the persistent gum infections.

Around 56 men of the age group ranging between 23-52, who undergone their sperm analysis, were taken to
come to a conclusion. Dr. Avigdor Klinger and Dr. Oshrat Shonberger were the two, who actually came up with the conclusion.

Around 13% of the subjects have healthy gums, 50% were infected with gingivitis, 32% suffered from parodontitis and the rest 5% suffers from aggressive parodontitis.

Around 34% people have normal sperm count, 52% had low count of sperm whereas and the rest 14% was found to be with absent sperm count.

The subjects, who had low sperm count, of them 65% were found to be infected by gingivitis. Whereas, only 48% of people who had normal sperm count and only half of the subjects, who had no sperm suffered from chronic parodontitis.

The men, who had infected gums, were having quite low mobility of gums. So, go in for timely periodontal treatment for improving the quality of the semen.
