Health News: Do not take fruit juices with your medicine

AUGUST 24. ONTARIO - There are many individuals, who like to include fruit juices in their daily diet. They feel that these juices would provide them with essential nutrients and thereby improve their general health.

However, a recent study has come up with a surprising discovery. It has been found that fruit juices can suppress the positive effects of various drugs.

This rather surprising discovery was made by a team of researchers at the University of Western Ontario. The researchers made several people take their medicines, either with plain water or fruit juice.

The results revealed that those individuals, who took medicines along with fruit juice, did not have any effect of the drugs on their system.

This result was something that was never heard of before, as often it has been noticed that grapefruit juice helps in absorbing certain drugs. However, now as a result of the study it has finally been found that fruit juices can prevent many medicines from acting in their normal way.

The researchers suggest that when people take medicines they should take them with water and not consume any fruit juice for some hours after having the medicines. They believe that there are many other food items, which can have adverse effects on the action of certain medicines.
