Health News: Drugs did not cause death to children at AIIMS

AUGUST 29. NEW DELHI – After being accused for death of over 45 children during their clinical trial, AIIMS announced on Tuesday that the drugs they used have been tested ‘safe’.

They also felt that none of the children from specific social economic group.

After finding that the drugs during their trials were safe and not known for fatal complications, the premier health institute of the country declared that the children were victim of serous and high risk diseases. They felt that children might not have been exposed to healthy living in the past.

One of AIIMS official stated that the studies have undergone close scrutiny. These studies have the required ethical and regulatory approvals. This statement came about following a charge on their officials with 49 children dying in clinical trial of medicines during a 3-year period.

There were allegations on AIIMS officials that they targeted children backward in their socio-economic background. However, they denied all charges and have confirmed using a mix of children, who were treated in one of the most reputed treatment centers.

They said that there should not have been any question raised on the institute’s integrity, as they have never targeted socio-economic groups. They even added that AIIMS are ready to share all the details necessary for completing the in-depth enquiries, which will be carried out by Union Health Ministry.
