AUGUST 27. PARIS - Based on the reports of a survey done by the famous English medical journal, the Lancet, it has been found that it is possible for those people, who have disfigured faces, to improve their looks by undergoing face transplant surgery.
This new surgery does not have too many side effects and thus can be done on people with damaged faces. The study was done on three people, who had disfigured faces due to some accidents or disease.
It was found that two people initially had problems, as the tissue, which was used for the face transplant surgery, was not compatible with their skin. However, it was found that the problem got solved slowly, as their skin got adjusted to the surgery.
It was found that after the surgery, people were able to have more control on their faces and perform certain facial functions. This outcome was something extraordinary, as all the three people had considerable damage on their faces and face transplant surgery was effective in reliving the damage.
The researchers, who worked on the three cases at the Henri-Mondor hospital, have thus concluded that it is possible to make complete transplantation of the face and correct any type of disfigurement.
