Girls are at par with boys in maths and have measured up to boys in every grade, a recently released research says.
The research says that women have earned 48 percent of undergraduate college degrees in maths, which shows that they have measured up to the boy’s. It points out that more and more girls are taking advanced maths classes like calculus.
Comparing the performance of as many as seven million children, the researchers have found that the scores of both the boys and girls were equal, even in the high schools. The found hat the girls measured up to the boys in maths in all grades.
There was a notion among the parents and teachers that boys are better in maths and his could have led many girls to avoid mat classes. But this concept has been shattered with more and more girls now taking up maths classes, the research points out and adds that the trend is changing slowly.
The research has found out that more women went to the colleges though there are fewer of them in science and technology. They say that girls now do not say, “Maths class is tough”.
The girls have achieved gender parity in math tests, the research says.
