AUGUST 25. LONDON - A recent study shows that male smoker’s can reduce the risk of stroke, if they have two or more cups of coffee or tea in a day.
26,000 male smokers were taken in consideration to draw the conclusions. The study proves that around 21 per cent of the male smokers, who had tea or coffee regularly were less prone to cerebral infection.
These men were kept under consideration for more than 13 years. A relation was established between their consumption of beverages and the strokes. Again, the age and other related factors were kept into consideration, so as to reach at the right conclusion.
Researchers satisfactorily concluded that drinking of tea and coffee may help in decreasing the chances of cerebral infractions. Cerebral infraction is the blockage in the vessel through which blood is supplied to the brain.
The study, yet does not say anything about women smokers or for that matter non-smokers. But, it is true that tea is a wonderful antioxidant and helps a great deal to keep down the levels of cholesterol in the blood. This in turn, reduces the chances of strokes and cardiovascular diseases.
The consistent results have made the study more authentic.
