Health News: Obesity can finally be treated through drugs

AUGUST 30. WASHINGTON DC – There are many individuals around the world troubled by increasing weight and obesity. They try to control their weight by doing exercise and following healthy diet regimens, but to no avail.

Recently, a group of researchers from reputed treatment centers of America have found that there is a certain chemical in the brain that controls our eating patterns and therefore controls weights.

During the study that was conducted on mice, it was found that if the copy of certain brain derived neurotrophic factor [BDNF] was absent in mice, it could lead to an increase in appetite and obesity.

This chemical is important for energy homeostasis and the study compelled the researchers to go ahead with another study for finding, if the result was the same in case of humans too.

Researchers conducted a study on several human subjects. After their study, they found that the absence of BDNF gene increased the chances of obesity in the humans. Thus, it was successfully concluded that those people in whom the BDNF gene is absent are at a greater risk of getting obese.

This study can be helpful for scientists and researchers across the world, as they will be able to come out with more effective drugs for tackling obesity in humans.
