A Question: How many bones has the human Leg??

Health News :Restless leg syndrome

Restless leg syndrome or Ekbom’s syndrome causes pain in the legs, discomfort and a tingling sensation also. The exact cause of this problem is not known.

It is sometimes hereditary or can come on if the person has a kidney problem, be anemic or could show up during pregnancy also. Strangely these symptoms become worse during resting and diminish while the person remains active. These symptoms are worst at nights when the person is sleeping and causes disturbed sleep. However, sometimes there are periods when the symptoms do not bother the persons and they have fairly comfortable periods.

Usually women are more affected by this problem than men. The restless leg syndrome usually affects people as they get older, but in rare cases even children are affected with it.

As the cause is not known there is no cure for it. However, the symptoms can be reduced with medication, decreasing the use of alcohol, nicotine and caffeine, making oneself mentally alert and keeping awake, giving the legs a rub down and generally increasing the activity to make oneself more comfortable. It is important to give these people a lot of emotional support and reassure them that this is nothing serious.
