Health News: Southern states shows increase in HIV victims

By admin | Sep 5, 2008

SEPTEMBER 5. WASHINGTON - The HIV policy came under a huge scrutiny when fresh reports of newer victims were obtained down south. The alarm was triggered by Southern AIDS Coalition; a Birmingham based non profit organization in collaboration with the government. Although the rates of the AIDS victims fell quite steadily in the past five years but the numbers seemed to increase in the south.

The surprising report was constructed by central organizations like Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other state health facilities and budding researchers. The region under the scanner included Alabama, Florida, Louisiana and many other states like Washington D.C and others.

The infection rate are pretty high and more education and other damage repairing aids like funds and testing are summoned to obtain control of the situation. It is very much important to educate the residents of the areas before treating them of the disease.

The statistics indicate gruesome results. The data like most affected victims, most metropolitan places affected and others all showed an uphill trend in the southern direction. Specialists are blaming unequal government funding on the issue to be a major reason for such a situation. Relatively poor infrastructure and unawareness programs are mainly responsible for the mass spreading of the disease in the southern quarters.
