Morning sickness for some is very mild and for some it is very severe. It generally depends on the condition of the person who is suffering from it. There is no need to worry in either cases. Morning sickness occurs usually only in the first trimester and disappears gradually towards the end of the term. Some tips to counter morning sickness:
· Eating a good amount of fruits in the night before going to sleep is effective in some cases.
· Smelling a lemon especially if it is freshly cut or even taking small sip at lemon juice is good.
· Eat small portions of meals during the day. For example, instead of having three big meals have six small portions of meals. Remember to include carbohydrates in the morning snacks. Avoid eating carbohydrate rich food at night.
· Cabbage is good. Also try the BRATT diet formula. It basically consists of a diet rich in bananas, rice, apples, tea and toast.
· Adding a dash of ginger in your tea. Drinking ginger beer, ginger ale and ginger snaps will also reduce the nausea.
