Herpes is the most common sexually transmitted contagious viral disease caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV), which resides in the nerve ganglia after initial exposure to the herpes virus. It is common in both males and females. There are two strains of this virus, HSV-1 causes oral Herpes and HSV-2 causes genital herpes.

The symptoms for this disease are the appearance of blisters and sores on the body. In case of oral herpes, they appear on the lips, in and on the mouth. In genital herpes, the sores appear on the genital area, inside the vagina or on the cervix in the women and on the penis in the males. Again, it is used in the urinary tract of both men and women. Other symptoms include fever, muscle ache, difficulty eating, and feeling of irritability.

There are different types of diagnosis, including oral and topical anti-viral creams along with oxygen therapy. The treatment varies depending on the site of infection:

oral
genital
other body surfaces

Anti-viral therapies are the most effective herpes treatments for most patients and can be combined with others as well. There are natural remedies for herpes too. They include vitamins such as L-lysine, olive leaf extract, red marine algae, lavender, myrrh, sage and the ones that have proven to be effective herpes treatments and help reduce reoccurrence.
