Right now, it may feel as though all your internal organs are expanding rapidly. Sometimes you wonder if all your organs are working properly. This is a natural phase because the baby is suddenly growing very quickly, pushing out all your organs. The lungs cannot fill oxygen; the stomach cannot accommodate what you want to eat. You will be gasping for breath. Do not exert yourself too much. Eat small meals frequently instead of large meals. Be ready to breastfeed your baby. This is very important for your baby’s nutrition.
Your baby is now under ‘full-term’. She has developed some definite sleeping patterns. More fat is being deposited on the baby’s body because she needs to be warm when she is born. Her fuzzy hair disappears. She has learnt to blink. She can also distinguish between darkness and light. Baby weighs about five pounds and 10 ounces. From the crown to the rump, the measure should read at least 12 inches. The baby’s position now will decide how she is going to come out.
Don’t cut down totally on fluids because you need them. Even if you experience the ‘frequent urination urge’, better to have one more trip to the bathroom than risk fluid imbalance. Keep practicing the very useful Kegel exercises.
