Bad breath is a very embarrassing problem for an individual. It is characterized by a very foul smell from the oral cavity. It is generally caused by the problems of the stomach which can occur due to stomach upsets. Poor oral care , indigestion, lung trouble , breathing style and lots of other activities can add to foul breath.

It can be counteracted by :
- Proper care of the oral cavity which includes regular brushing and cleansing of the tongue and teeth.
- Consuming food containing fibers and avoiding constipation
- Avoiding mouth breathing
- Drinking lots of water and at regular intervals
- Washing the oral cavity with lime water
- Chewing Tulsi leaf everyday prevents foul breath
- Ginger juice in hot water helps the cause
- Chewing Cardamom or Clove after every meal eradicates bad breath
- Washed and boiled Durva grass is useful if regularly gargled with
- Consuming Californian raisin for two weeks can cure the problem
- Boiling and drinking the water of Mint leaves is a preventive. Chewing mint leaves will also do
